Access

Red Moss Pot is on land owned by Scales Farm. The original (east) entrance is on Access Land, but the newer entrance just west of the Pennine Way is not. However, historically access to this entrance has happened without objection from the landowner, although if specifically approached to ask permission, it is unlikely to be granted due to concerns that actively granting access raises liability risks. We therefore believe the landowner has no objection with cavers visiting their caves, but will also not actively consent to this. The CNCC advises that access to this cave can be made without contacting the landowner, but of course be courteous if you do meet them.

Park ideally at Horton in Ribblesdale and approach via the Pennine Way. There may be some limited off-road parking near New Houses (do not block gates or passing places) for a closer approach.

This cave is NOT on access land. Click here for more information.
